Chainsaw Dupont live MP3 stream now available
Chainsaw Dupont has released a live MP3 stream featuring selections from a live performance recorded in February at the now-closed Bossman Blues Center on Chicago's West Side. The show features a good sampling of material, including a few chestnuts that seemed inspired by the little lounge under the Lake Street "L" tracks and an active audience. Listen closely during "Don't Lie to Me" and you can hear the Green Line train slowing down to stop at the Central Park stop, the front door squeaking as people enter and leave the lounge, and various patrons singing along in harmony on various tunes. Chainsaw Dupont live at Quencher's Saloon, 2401 N. Western, Chicago, Saturday May 10
Chainsaw Dupont will perform at Quencher's Saloon, 2401 N. Western, Chicago, IL, as part of the Spring 2003 Chicago Blues TourÂȘ. There's no cover charge at Quencher's, although the shuttle-bus tour of Chicago blues clubs costs $30 per person. It will be a lively night at Quencher's, with buses dropping people from all over the city and blues tourists as well, all night long. Chainsaw will be unveiling some new arrangements and new songs added to the set, as well as old favorites. There's sure to be a few special guests dropping in as well.
Quencher's Saloon is a fixture in Chicago's Bucktown / Logan Square neighborhood, a mainstay of the local pub scene since the late 70s, and in the last few years has taken an aggressive approach to live music, offering music 7 nights a week, with no cover -- ever. There's a good selection of over 110 beers and other specialty items like single-malts, and a warm, woody, pub atmosphere. Hope to see you there.
