Chainsaw Dupont to shoot video for "Hoodoo Ya" re-release
Chicago "Delta Crush" guitarist Chainsaw Dupont will re-release the EP that was first issued in 2004, featuring Hoodoo Ya, an atmospheric protest ballad originally released in advance of the 2004 U.S. Presidential elections. A new video will be added as an "enhanced" feature of the disc. The video will satirize the deceitfulness of the Bush administration, utilizing public statements made by administration members ironically.
Some initial shooting for the video will take place at "Musicians Blast Out the Bush Regime", a live benefit concert for World Can't Wait, an organization dedicated to publicizing the deceptions and abuses of power of the Bush administration. The benefit starts at 8PM, Tuesday, July 18, at the Note, 1565 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood and runs until around midnight. Featured performers also include: Dave Specter, Dave Ivaz 3D, Wendy Morgan, Jim Conry, TREE, as well as many special guests in a jam session to close the show. Suggested donation is $10.
Video of Chainsaw's set will be shot by videographer Ted Chambers, who has also shot Dupont at the 2004 Chicago Blues Festival and Bill's Blues in Evanston.
