Chainsaw Dupont honored for excellence by two organizations

"Delta Crush" guitarist Chainsaw Dupont has been honored by the African American Arts Alliance of Chicago, with a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music. The sixth annual awards ceremony will be held October 23rd at the DuSable Museum of African American History, and is presented by Alliance as one of the programs of Black Arts Month. The African American Arts Alliance is "a service organization dedicated to developing, strengthening, and promoting the African American artists and arts organizations in Chicago.

Dupont has also been selected by Independent Artists Registry, an independent scouting service, which evaluates thousands of artists each year and then selects the most promising for membershp. This year only 52 artists were admitted, including Chainsaw Dupont. The IAR will begin a promotional campaign in September for the artists admitted this year. Very few blues acts have been admitted, so it's a significant achievement, and we hope it's a harbinger for success.
